Kanzaki Soumen Cooperative holds various events throughout the year
The Kanzaki Soumen Cooperative, consisting of 11 companies, has been providing Kanzaki soumen at the Saga Sakura Marathon since the full marathon began in 2013. The noodles are cut to a bite-size length, placed in paper cups, and then served immediately with a dipping sauce.
During the Golden Week, a three-day Soumen Festival was held at the Yoshinogari Historical Park in Kanzaki City to promote the local specialty, Kanzaki soumen. The festival attracted a large crowd, with many people enjoying the soumen nagashi.
At the venue, three soumen nagashi were set up, one of which was about 30 meters long and the other two were about 10 meters long. Families and other visitors enjoyed the cold soumen as it flowed past them.
